Don't know if the fact that I turned off my downloaded copy at 16 minutes says something. I liked the premiere, I did, but something was missing to have me wanting more after I had finished watching. Or maybe it was all the Bellick I didn't want to see.

I do not feel these new characters!! I really need Sara back. And Kellerman, I really miss him :(

My first serious texture sets as I've been in an icon pause of some sort. Hey, I blame the fact that I'm out of town or I would have presented something other than Smallville icons earlier... :)

I bring you a few Smallville icons. Or rather, I bring ghosts a few Lex & Clex icons.

Hope you like them Mis, a few more will be waiting for you when I get back home, and with a little more variation, but at least it's something since you've been waiting, aye? :)

These are only shareable if ghosts says they are. ~~So ask her, unless she gets here first to tell you lot.~~ Sorry, they're off limits!

I'm packed and ready to leave town tomorrow for 10 whole days. I have however uploaded two texture sets, so don't be surprised if those show up in the next few days (granted it's not sunny and too hot to be inside, of course :D)

Icon tutorial #01 / Textures & Brushes

Hey look, a tutorial by me. Now that's a first. It was requested by shadowmyst, and I've done my best trying to explain what to do, as I usually suck at it.

• Made in PSCS, should be easily translatable to most programs.

As I was making this I realized it's fairly easy without any real complicated steps. A few texture and brush layers with a layer mask and that's it. As always, depending on your base you may need to of course add a Curves layer, Selective color layer or similar to bring out the colors of your base, but with this particular image I didn't feel like it was needed.

Tutorial: Sucre

For this tutorial I used THIS cap by me of Sucre from Prison Break 2x22 - Sona and cropped to 100x100 to get the base.

1) BASE

Start by duplicating your base twice and set one to screen and the other to softlight. I set both layers at 50%. Copy merge (Shift+Ctrl+C) and paste as a new layer (Ctrl+V). I do this instead of merging all the layers in case I mess something up, want to go back and change a setting or whatever. You do whatever feels the best.

2) ADDING LAYER MASK

After prepping the base I add a new layer and fill it with white to make it easier to see what to erase. Duplicate the copy merged base and drag it so it's on top the white layer. Add a layer mask and erase the background. Because of the texturing later I don't spend much time to get the edges perfect.

3) TEXTURES

Now is the step to choose textures. I usually don't know what goes on in my head when I choose them, I try out a few and switch them around until I find something I like. For this icon I chose two textures (#1, rotated so the red part was behind Sucre, and #2), both by dearest. Paste them as new layers UNDER your base with the layer mask, the first set to normal and second to softlight.

Looks a bit bare, huh? On to brushes!

4) BRUSHES

I love adding different white grungy brushes as they can really compliment and get a more subtle look of the textures you use. For this particular icon I used a few of elli's brushes found at http://ex-posed.com. I can never remember the exact ones I used, but pretty much anything works.

I usually create a new layer for each brush I use in case I mess up or want to delete one of them etc. For this one I only needed two layers with one or two brushes as I felt it was enough for the icon. The first one was added on top of the textures and the other on top of the base and then rotated to cover part of Sucre's arm and also get rid of some of the redness in one of the textures that kept reminding me of blood.

The brush layers were all set to normal 100%, but this of course depends on what you like. Sometimes I fiddle around with the settings as well as change the color of the brush. Experiment!

5) LAST TOUCH (optional)

Lastly I added a Color Balance layer just above the masked layer (to not lose the whiteness of the second brush layer) because I wanted a slight yellow tint to get a warmer look. All I did was lower the blue in Midtones a bit.

EH HEH HEH Jack's crossed over! I couldn't help but laugh at that whole end scene.

Claire's plan was sweet in my opinion. Could have waterproofed that note though. Oh, and finally! We got the Jack/Claire = siblings connection confirmed. Took them long enough.

There should be a drinking game for Locke's screw ups. Doesn't he ever learn? Dumb question. And he knew about the C4... Dun dun durr.

Stargate SG-1 Unending

Where to begin? Seriously. I just want to give them a big hug as a thank you for these years. There were definitely mixed feelings while watching the episode. It was good, but it didn't have that series finale feeling over it that I wanted it to have. Sure, there are the 2 movies left but it could have had that unf anyway. Haha. The Asgard just left, which made me sad. The plot was okay, interesting, but still dragged on in the middle because of the years passing.

Vala + Daniel = <3

The end scene was kind of perfect though, with their wise quotes and walking through the gate. *Sob*

Don't think I was this sad when X-Files ended. I couldn't help but wish the whole team could cross over to Atlantis, even if that's not what I really want (except Daniel! Him I want there).

PAUL, DON'T SHOOT! as much as I'd love seeing him dance to "I shot the sheriff" I think it's better to see if Michael's plan turn out to be good. Haven't decided yet. Don't know if there are spoilers either, but I'm soo trying to keep away from them.

K-man again: he saw his sister! I don't know why but my heart almost melted. Is everyone getting a heart? Well T-bag seems to have lost his pretty quickly after last week. There he goes killing again. Oh, and I bet something will happen considering how both him and Bellick is on the same plane now *snicker*.

Michael's sneaky letting fake!Green think he answered right.

Was this the turning of Mahone? Realizing Lincoln could be innocent? He probably won't do anything until the family's safe though, if he does anything at all.

And C-Note HAS to be alive!! :( He can't die even if I hated his storyline. I want him, Kacee and Dede together.

Sidenote: When he opened the package and saw what it was I totally said "oh no, I knew it!" out loud causing my mom to enter the room asking what I was watching. When I told her it was Prison Break she demanded to see the scene even if she would have no clue what was going on. Now she's mad she has to wait a few weeks to see what was going on (we're only at John Doe here). Tsk, tsk.

Bellick really thinks he's hot shit outside prison when just a few days earlier he would have been scared like a little girl. His FBI practicing was funny.

Whyyy did Mahone let Haywire jump. Though I'm guessing that's "better" than having him murdered. I wanted to see him get to Holland, haha. However, now that he's crossed over, so to speak, maybe he's got himself a Holland Heaven :)

C-Note

He was lucky he saved those customers to have them help him. Eh, feels like that whole thing was unnecessary though, like a filler for the rest of the episode. I do however love seeing C-Note & Dede together.

Other stuff

Mm, Lincoln always look hot.

And lmao, I knew they weren't the ones jumping off the train as soon as you didn't get to see them. I wonder whose idea that was.

The lady over at Susan's house was so clueless. I guess that's what happens when you'e blinded by so called charm. Seriously. Wonder how this is going to end up.

Religion & faith. The other side of the supernatural realm we haven't seen yet.

Surprisingly I liked it, lots of questioning from both brothers. Sam's really trying to hold on to something and I don't think Dean knows what to do, which kind of ties into the end and what he saw. I can hear walls starting to crumble. Guess that's been going on for a while though.

Hmm. Poor Winchester boys.

And yea, boys in hiding find the vibrating bed in combination with good music to be very enjoyable. Aw, Dean.

Eh, didn't get to see SG-1 until today. I have lots of other shows to catch up on as well. School choked me this week.

RDA! Yay! I've missed the Jack/Daniel moments so it was fun times watching their scenes and bantering. "Just like old times" - yea!

Eh heh another thing, loved how they incorporated the Da Vinci Code. Of course Vala likes it. Just like Teal'c and his Star Wars fascination :D Tsk, aliens.

Well, the only thing remaining is to see if this Sangraal thing worked or not. I swear, the Ori are like leeches. Six new ships in the galaxy? Screwed! And only a few more episodes left (which I don't even want to think about) to explain this, and the movie of course.

So, in short: LOVED IT. There isn't much else to say, I have to watch it again, haha.
